Department of Human Values - II

I referred to the losses caused by naming the human as a “resource”, and calculating them as a bulk of raw material..However, human is a great value with their diversity and uniqueness. My suggestion was to establish a “Department of Human Values”. Its function is to imagine the unique contribution of each individual to the process.

In the traditional perspective, which does not focus on people, all inputs can be calculated and automated. However, the originality of each individual should come into play as a multiplier that shatters this crude formula. Understanding the originality of each human being requires curiosity, effort, and an urge for analysis. So, how would the “Department of Human Values” operate?

The "Human Library" project may well be an inspiration for us: The project attracted great interest all over the world in recent years. It brings together “human books” willing to tell their unique experiences and stories, and readers willing to listen to their originality. This brief but profound encounter eliminates prejudices and reductionist attitudes.

When we stop considering the people we work with as uniform, calculable, passive resources; the greatest value would emerge from the act of grasping their diversity, surprises, and potentials in their active participation.
